These are 22nd~25th days staying in Thai, I conducted research at Sakon Nakhon where my university is, and Ubon Ratchathani.
14th and 15th we went to around Sakon Nakhon. During survey in Sakon Nakhon, we did not have local supporters unlike other regions. We found that it is truly hard for us to make field survey without any local supporters. We had no idea where we should visit and what the dominant land cover and crop is.
On the afternoon of 15th we moved to Ubon Ratchathani, it took more than 5 hours, long trip. I bought milk green tea at "Cafe Amazon", I liked it. After getting Ubon Ratchathani, we went to eat Thai style BBQ (หมูกระทะ, Muu Grata) again. I missed Japanese Yakiniku!.
On the 16th, We went to cooperated community. But there has been strong rain in these one month so that road to the village was flooded. We took a boat to across the flooded area.
From the boat
According to local people, it seems to continue this flooding until after 3 to 4 months... Local temple donates foods and water for isolated people. This flooding has not happened every year, there was flooding in 7 years ago as the last time flooding.
